ARMS OF C-PORCDEV:
The Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 aims at reducing by two third the mortality rate among children under five by 2015 compared to 1990. Reduce by three quarters the maternal mortality ratio by 2015 compared to 1990.
Human being irrespective of race has a right to health. One third of the world population is denied this right yearly. It is estimated that 10 million infants die of preventable diseases, 500,000 women die during pregnancy and child birth due to low access to sufficient medical care in the developing countries.
C-PORCDEV task on health sector gears towards the construction of Health Centers, renovation of dilapidated health centers, provision of Health Centers Equipment, Health Advocacy and reform, Strengthen Community Based Health care delivery system and education of the rural populace on nutrition.
The UN convention on the rights of the child includes the right to education. The Millennium Development Goal No 2 is Achieving Universal Primary Education.
Education is a fundamental Human Right. Education gives individual the possibility to learn, utilize their own resources, and gain insight into and influence the society. Every one has right to education. In the year 2000, about 104 million children had no access to education. 60% of the people are women in developing countries.
Most of C-PORCDEV education project fall within the construction and reconstruction of schools, purchase of educational materials and the development of Teacher Training Programme. Etc.
The Industrialized Nations generate surplus food, while 852 million people worldwide are suffering from hunger. This situation is worst in Africa. C-PORCDEV concentrates on provision of mills, livestock, cold rooms, feed mills, and other agricultural facilities to aid food security in the rural areas.
C-PORCDEV HIV/AIDS; TB AND MALARIA:
For more than 20 years now, a disease has been spreading across the globe whose name has come to be synonymous with human suffering AIDS. In the meantime, more than 40 million people have HIV which triggers the Immune deficiency syndrome. Almost 95% of those concerned lived in Developing Counties, and more than one – quarter of these are located in Sub-Shara Africa, a threat to the existence of the entire societies. It is only a disaster to human and economic terms. Join C-PORCDEV in the fight against HIV/AIDS by funding our projects on this sector.
C-PORCDEV YOUTH AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT:
Community Development Programmes gears to access to quality education and training, clean drinking water, adequate health services, agricultural production, leadership development and empowerment. C-PORCDEV achieves these through training, leadership development, violence prevention, advocacy and policy development.
C-PORCDEV ANTI CORRUPTION AND GOOD GOVERNANCE:
Good governance means efficient, accountable, transparence and effective public management which are conducive to social, economic and political development of a State. Currently, the concept of Good Governance relates not only to government action but also the interplay between the State and civil society.
Corruption hinders poverty reduction and sustainable development. Corruption puts social, economic and political development at a risk. As a result of this, public resources are squandered, political institution become more vulnerable and public personnel put less than 5% at work. According to Transparency International, at least 400 billion dollars are lost worldwide annually as a result of bribery in public procurement and according to World Bank, corruption is a one trillion – dollar industry around the world. Combating corruption and promoting Good Governance, C-PORCDEV engages on public budget monitoring, educating the rural communities on checkmating their leaders on accountability and transparency through due process.
